Anyone that has been following my blog or websites would know that I have played around with lots of different web technologies over the years. A couple of years ago I set up a Blog for my brother using WordPress. Recently I created my own blog using WordPress – I was getting sick of editing HTML everytime I wanted to share something on one of my websites.
WordPress as a Content Management Tool
I help out a friend with his business website. I suggested that he move his static HTML site to a content managed site (CMS) so he could maintain it himself. I started doing some research on what might be a good tool, and WordPress came up in the Google Searches. After some research, I found out that WordPress is a really good CMS system for managing your own website.
And then there came iThemes
Then I stumbled upon iThemes Builder. This is a theme and plug in for WordPress that gives you fantastic control over your CMS website without having to know any HTML or PHP web programming. This software is not free, but it is not expensive either. I have been using it for a day, and have to say I am really impressed. If you are thinking of setting up your own website, I would strongly recommend a WordPress/iThemes Builder approach – for ease of creation and future maintenance.
