I recently purchased an iPhone X. I was pleasantly surprised how well the Face ID works, but I soon became annoyed because after Face ID unlocks the phone, it remains on the locked screen until you swipe up. I found this very annoying so I started to search for a solution. It seems there is no option to force Face ID to take you to the home screen. But then I realised there is a simple solution. Here’s how.
- Pick up the phone
- Immediately swipe up from the bottom. Don’t wait for the Face ID
- By the time you have swiped up, 9/10 times Face ID has already unlocked the phone and it will be seamless. The other 10% of the time the Face ID may lag by half a second, but it still unlocks seamlessly.
If you think about step 2, you would do something similar if you had Touch ID. You would push the button and then hold your finger until it unlocked. After a few times, you just do this automatically. It is the same for iPhone X. Just swipe up immediately and you will go straight to the home screen. Do it 5 times and it will become automatic.
